Ryan Mallet out for remainder of the season

The Starting quarterback the last two games for the Houston Texans will miss the rest of the 2013-2014 with a torn pectoral muscle. The Texans QB and former Tom Brady backup only played two games with the Texans this year coach O’Brien and the Texans front office were planning on letting Mallet play the rest of the year to see what he could do before making a decision on him for the future.

With Mallets contract ending at the of the season its believed that the Texans will bring him back as well as look at drafting a QB in the upcoming draft next may.

With the recent development of other former Brady backup Brian Hoyer in Cleveland, Mallet will warrant a hard look in the off season by many teams in need of a QB if the Texans choose to draft and develop their own player.

Personally speaking id look at bringing Mallet back for another year as well as take a look at a QB in next years draft. There are a ton of great prospects scheduled to come out next year and i am sure there is at least one QB coach O'Brien would be interested in.

Bearded Veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick is set to step in this week for the Texans as they play the Tennessee Titans.
