Bulls Draw First Blood vs Cavs

Monday, May 4th, 2015

Bulls come in and win game 1 in the anticipated second round match up vs Cleveland. It's the Cavaliers first loss this post-season, sweeping the Celtics in the first round. 99-92 was the final score.

Pau earned himself a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Rose with 25, both had great games. Bulls take away the home-court advantage from Cleveland, who are currently underhanded, losing Kevin Love for reportedly the remainder of the playoffs due to injury, and JR Smith who is suspended. Jimmy Butler also with a fantastic effort with 20 points.

Irving had game-high 30 points, LeBron with a double-double, 19 points along with 15 rebounds. Cleveland put up a fight, who were only down by 4 points late in the 4th, but never connected when crucial. Iman Shumpert with a much needed effort, came through, scoring 22 points.

Bulls came through with their known defensive Tom Thibodeau identity in the final minutes and closed it out for the won. Love was dearly missed for Cleveland who enjoy to play with a stretched floor, surrounded by shooters.

It was tough for Cleveland to come together fully, they were sort of struggling to get a flow all game long, understandably so being men down, they still lost a big game.  Cleveland did overcome a 16 points lead to tie it, but lost it right after when the Bulls went a huge 15-0 run.

LeBron James has been down 1-0 to the Bulls back when he was in Miami during the 2011 playoffs, where they won 4 straight after and advanced to the finals.

Game 2 is on Wednesday.
